The task Armisha selected for this screencast was to show how to make simple graphs with Excel. For this project she used Camtasia 3. To begin this project, Armisha first wrote out a script for the simple graph she wanted to demonstrate for the users, which ended up being a bar graph. After writing out her script and timing how long it would take to complete all the tasks she wanted to highlight, it was well over 4 minutes and required trimming. Therefore, some components within graph making in Excel Armisha did not have the opportunity to cover in the video in detail. Once her script could be executed in an appropriate amount of time she created an introductory slide to her video in Camtasia. To create her introduction, Armisha added a title slide and edited its background by changing the color, adding sketch animations, and a reveal effect. Armisha then recorded her screencast video with no audio so her narrations can be done separately. When the screencast was complete, there were sections within the video that had to be trimmed and edited for a smoother flow. Once the video was to her liking she added the left click effect to highlight tab and chart selections for the viewers. Now it was time to move on to audio. Armisha used free royalty music by bensound.com. Armisha wanted music with an upbeat and happy tone; however, she could not find exactly what she wanted for the entire duration of her video. So this required her to use two separate pieces of music to avoid an odd silence in the background for the viewers. Armisha lowered the background music to be 10% of its natural volume to avoid over powering the narrations. She then began narrating the video in segments. When the narrations were complete Armisha made last minute adjustments to ensure that the display size was appropriate and visible, then the video was imported to YouTube.
