Abstract:
Space-time discontinuous Galerkin (DG) methods provide a solution for elastodynamic analysis, a problem that serves as a model for DG approximations of second-order hyperbolic problems. A direct element-by-element solution motivates the generation of a two dimensional (2D) space-time mesh with a cone constraint, the faces connecting two time slabs can not be steeper than a specified angle $\alpha$ with respect to the 2D space. This paper presents a solution to this constrained 2D space-time meshing problem using only simplicial elements.
