I have recently defended my dissertation in December, 2011 and received my Doctor of Philosophy degree from the College of Engineering in the University of Florida, Gainesville. Now, I just joined the lab of Dr. Joel Bader (Baderlab) as a postdoctoral researcher.

During my Ph.D. I conducted research under the guidance of Dr. Sanjay ranka and Dr. Tamer Kahveci. I was associated with the the Bioinformatics Lab in the CISE Department. I worked in the areas of analyzing gene expression by leveraging gene regulatory networks. I enjoy building mathematical models for biological systems based on machine learning and statistics. My major areas of research interest are bioinformatics, computational biology and machine learning. You can find more about my research here.

I completed my under graduate in Computer Science from Bengal Engineering and Science University, Shibpur (BESUS) in 2004. BESUS, which is more than 150 years old, is the second oldest engineering college in India. Before joining UFL, I worked in the industry in various spectrums of Computer Science in India. I worked in Tata Elxsi, NetApp and Interra Systems. During this three years, I gained experience in the areas of Storage, EDA and Networks.

In summer 2010, I worked at Amazon.com, Seattle as a software development intern. I worked in “transaction risk management” team, developing two programs to detect fraud third party sellers. Apart from working different public and confidential web technologies, the city Seattle gave me a memorable company.
