The topic for our presentation is "Peer to Peer file sharing in Ad Hoc MANets". We will begin our presentation with a brief overview of P2P networks in wired newtorks, discuss their architectures. Then we will discuss some pointers about what makes MANets different from wired networks and why the existing P2P approaches in wired networks cannot be used as such in MANets. We then discuss about a few papers that focus on developing a P2P file sharing system MANets. The various papers are, 1) Adapting Bit Torrent to Ad Hoc Networks - This paper proposes modifications to the existing bit torrent protocol and tries it to adopt to MANets. 2) CarTorrent - A file sharing system VANets 3) ORION - A content sharing system for MANets that use on demand route setup for searching and file transfer. We would also discuss the strengths and shortcomings of these papers. Finally we talk briefly about our project and some of the shortcomings that we are planning to address.
