The Computer and Information Science and Engineering (CISE) Department at the University of Florida has developed an Academic Tutoring Center (ATC), which is centered on peer tutoring in the CISE major courses and all programming languages taught by the CISE Department. Peer tutoring can offer benefits to both tutors and students seeking help. The challenge of explaining complex ideas to a fellow student reinforces the tutor's knowledge of a subject, while the comfortable peer relationship creates a relaxed learning opportunity for students who are having difficulties.
Questions should be emailed to the undergraduate advisors.
UF Online students: Virtual tutoring is available to UF Online students. Click here for instructions.
Summer 2018 Hours
The CISE Academic Tutoring Center will be closed on all holidays and anytime that UF is not in session.
Tutors are well versed in most CISE courses.
Students must bring their textbooks or course material for the course in which they are requesting to be tutored.
Tutors are seasoned CISE students who have excelled in department courses. Tutoring assistance is available for most CISE courses in the main curriculum, including:
COP 3502, 3503
Some tutors are also proficient in COP 4600, CNT 4007C, and some technical electives.
Be sure to take advantage of this free service.
The CISE ATC is located in CSE E201. Enter CSE through the doors across from Marston Science Library and go through the door on the left (next to the stairs going up to the third floor). The door immediately to your left is E201.
