To apply for the minor, a student must have a 2.5 GPA and complete the following courses with a grade of C or better: (prerequisites in parentheses)
MAC 2312 Analytic Geometry & Calculus II (MAC 2311)
COP 3502 Programming Fundamentals 1 (MAC 2311 – coreq)
COP 3503 Programming Fundamentals 2 (MAC 2311)

To obtain the minor, a student must also complete the following courses with a grade of C or better:
COT 3100 Applications of Discrete Structures (MAC 2311, COP 3503)
CDA 3101 Introduction to Computer Organization (MAC 2311, COP 3503)
COP 3530 Data Structures & Algorithms (MAC 2312, COP 3503, COT 3100)
COP 4600 Operating Systems (COP 3530)
TOTAL HOURS REQUIRED FOR THE MINOR = 20 credit hours
Due to the sequencing of coursework, the minor cannot be completed in less than 3 semesters.
At least three of the following courses must be taken at the University of Florida: COP 3502,
COP 3503, COT 3100, CDA 3101, COP 3530, and COP 4600. Courses taken at another institution
will not be guaranteed for credit at the University of Florida, until a course equivalency has
