Research

My research interests lie in Medical Image Analysis , Computer Vision, Machine Learning,  Computer Graphics, , and Applied Mathematics. Within MedIA , I work on 3D and 2D image analysis e.g., image segmentation, registration, motion segmentation and more recently information theoretic learning applied to content-based image retrieval. My group is primarily focussed on Diffusion Wieghted (DW) MRI analysis for trauma identification, hippocampal shape analysis for epilepsy classification, Diffusion Weighted Image analysis of epileptic rats etc. In Machine Learning, we are focussed on developing a new concept class, called Conic Classifiers which subsume linear classifiers and are well suited for applications where the data dimensions are much larger than the number of given data samples.
