Types of Exposition

(Full) Concerts : Formal, by professional, experienced (usually visiting) artistes

Baithaks : Informal concerts by amateur (usually local) artistes are usually interspersed with an informal LecDem.

LecDems : Lecture Demonstrations

Workshops : Often by professional artistes who are visiting for a concert; Usually several days or at least several hours; Involves teaching; Usually a public LecDem is part of the package.

Styles

Indian Classical Music includes for example: Carnatic style, or Hindustani style, or their Fusion with other musical genres (including traditional and folk music from anywhere in the world, or jazz).
The emphasis will -generally- be on melodic, rhythmic, lyrical/phrasing structure plus ofcourse, improvisation. And unless it is Fusion, there is usually no significant harmonic/polyphonic/chordal content.

Indian Classical Dance/Musical Theaterincludes for example: Bharatanatyam, Odissi, Kuchipudi, Kathak, Mohiniattam, Kathakali, or dance-dramas and musical theater involving these styles, or their Fusion with other dance/musical theater genres (including traditional martial arts and and folk dances from anywhere in the world, ballet, flamenco modern dance or jazz).

Otherincludes for example: Katha Kala Kshepam (HariKatha), etc.
