"Computational conformal geometry, open problems and applications." By: David Gu. Abstract: Computational conformal geometry can be applied to solve many engineering problems from a new angle of view, such as surface matching, spline surface construction, efficient rendering and shape anylasis. For surface matching, we need to answer the fundamental questions for the existence, uniqueness, inversability, stability of the mappings. For spline surface construction, we need to address the topological obstruction issue. For shape anylasis, we need to estimate the error bound, convergence speed. In this talk, I will discuss these questions, and introduce related open problems in computational topology, and conformal geometry, and propose some research directions. Potential applications will be discussed also.
