Geometry,Graphics,Vision, Visualization(and visual simulation) - short G2V2 - weekly seminar covers a wide spectrum of areas to keep us up-to-date on each other's projects and:
1) when collaboration is called for, either for research or grant proposals, we can achieve it in a quicker and more natural fashion.
2) crosslists and announces talks from other UF colloquia/seminars, (including our own Departmental colloquium and Barr lecture series) that are relevant to our group -- we try to schedule our own talks so as not to clash with these talks.
3) provides a regularly running forum, where possible collaborators from other departments at UF can be given an opportunity to talk.
4) by knowing each others projects closely, we can recognize opportunities that may suit another person in the group and we can inform them.
5) last but not least, grad. students will now have a peer group with common interests, and will have a forum to present their work.
