Homeworks : 40% (5 homeworks, 8% each)
In-class 2 hr Midterm: 25%
Final : 35%
Bonus homeworks: 10% (total of 5 bonus questions, 2% each) Note that grading of bonus questions will be strict. Partial credit will not be given for bonus questions, only near-perfect answers will receive any points at all.
The percentages below are generally based on
the student body remaining at the end of the semester,
assuming the number of drops does not exceed the department
average. If it does, then the distribution may lean a bit more
towards the top.
The top 15% of students will surely get
an A.
The next 15% will atleast get a B+.
The next 15% will atleast get a B.
The next 15% will atleast get a C+
The next 20% will atleast get a C
If you are in the lowest 20%, you will probably end
up with a D+,D or F.
