I am currently affiliated with Rice University as a postdoc. My
interests revolve around large-scale data management and
query optimization (specifically parallel dataflow pipelines).
Background
I received my PhD in computer engineering from UF in 2008
specializing in database systems. My dissertation focused on
developing algorithms for managing spatio-temporal data
described by moving objects.
My work spans the breadth of Database Systems. Publications
worthy of mention include:
MCDB-R: Risk Analysis in the Database VLDB 2010 Talk (**Patent)
Evaluation of Probabilistic Threshold Queries in MCDB SIGMOD 2010
Scalable Approximate Query Processing with the DBO Engine SIGMOD 2007
Closest-Point-of-Approach Join for Moving Object Histories ICDE 2006
For a complete list of my publications, please check out the
DBLP website.
Professional Service
I regularly review papers for the TKDE, TODS, and VLDB Journal. Currently,
I am a member of the program committee for SIGMOD 2013.
