AN EXCITING SUMMER WORKSHOP FOR HIGH SCHOOL WOMEN:

We are pleased to announce that the CISE department of the University of Florida is hosting a workshop for high school young women who are interested in learning more about computer science and technology.

OUR GOALS:

Increase the awareness and interest in computer science and engineering

Educate all to the vast opportunities available and obtainable in this field

Develop an understanding to the need and importance of defining our future through technology

Encourage and inspire these talented students to be among the innovators of their generation

Inspire these students to consider and investigate computer science as a major sooner than later

Enlighten all to the fact that there is a compelling need for their presence, ideas, influence, and perspective within this industry

Motivate all to explore the varied courses, different degree, and diversified career choices available to our graduates

ABOUT THE WORKSHOP:

A diverse group of female high school students will join together for 4 days of workshops and activities to build computer skills including:

hands-on labs

lectures on MAYA and ALICE

presentations –Virtual Reality

question and answer session

tours – Smart House, Diana, Disney Quest

programming competitions

brainteasers and mental challenges

group activities with robots
