Course Policies

Grading Criteria:   The final grade will be on the curve. Typically top 20 - 30% students receive A, next 20 - 30% receives B+, and so on. The grading is based on the following components. Homeworks and projects should be submitted using e-Learning before the deadline. Grading will be based on what you explicitly stated in your answers of your homework, exam, or project. Please try to be as clear and precise as possible.

UF EDGE students will be given one extra week compared to on-campus students to finish all the assignments and projects. However, UF EDGE students are requested to take the midterm exam between Oct 27 and Oct 30. The midterm will not include any material covered in the last two lectures (one week) prior to Oct 27. UF EDGE students are also requested to take the final exam on Dec 15 or Dec 16.

Regrading Policy: Regrading request should be made within a week from the date the graded item (exam, project, or homework) is available.

Academic Dishonesty: All submitted works/results should be your own. See academic honesty guidelines for details. I follow a "zero tolerance policy" regarding cheating irrespective of whether one gave or received help (in any form) during completion of his/her homeworks, projects or exams.

Attendance: Attending lectures and viewing the lecture tapes are the responsibility of the students. All homework, projects and exams will be from the material covered in the lectures. I encourage the on-campus students to attend the lectures and activively participate in the class discussions.

Cell Phones: Please turn your cell phone off before you come to class.
