CISE Graduate Travel Grant Criteria Step 1: Eligibility Applicant must satisfy ALL of the following eligibility requirements: - applicant is PhD student in CISE, - applicant must be presenting research at a conference and should be first author on paper, - applicant must be affiliated with UF on the paper and in the program, - funding is on a pre-approved basis only, i.e., travel must take place during same semester that the application is approved, - applicant has not been awarded a travel grant in the past calendar year. Step 2: Ranking Preference is given to applicants who are sole authors, presenting invited papers, presenting papers at IEEE and ACM sponsored conferences, whose work is collaborative with CISE faculty, whose advisor's overhead return contributes to the department funds, who have had eligible applications turned down previously. On a funds-available basis, we may award grants to applicants who are not first authors (in descending order), presenting papers that were reviewed as abstracts only, who are leading/assisting tutorial sessions, who are presenting posters, whose work is not with CISE faculty. If there are two or more students with the same advisor seeking grants in a semester, at most one will receive preference. If there are two or more students seeking grants to attend the same conference for the same paper, at most one will receive preference.
