e---------------------------------------------------------------------------- CIS/CEN 4914 - Email Archive for Spring 2008 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ----| Message #9 |--- Subject: CIS / CEN 4914 - Final Presentation - URGENT Date: Wed Apr 23 19:01:26 EDT 2008 Class: Due to problems with the Internet connection in CSE/E404, I would request that you have your Final Presentation for CIS/CEN 4914 tonite on your laptop (bring with you) or on a jump drive (also bring with you). We can accommodate both of these. Also, pls. have your final report, forms, and hardcopy of your viewgraphs ready to give to me at the time of your presentation. Finally, if you are presenting after 8pm, please try to arrive at least an hour early, if at all possible. This will allow us to schedule presentations early, if time permits, so we can all leave earlier. Thank you, and best wishes for success!! Mark. mssz@cise.ufl.edu ----| Message #8 |--- Subject: CIS/CEN4914 - Instructions re: Final Presentation Date: Wed Apr 16 17:48:33 EDT 2008 Class: As a reminder, CIS/CEN 4914 Final Presentation will be held on the following dates, times, and places: PLEASE PLAN TO GET YOUR FINAL REPORT TO YOUR ADVISOR FOR GRADING NO LATER THAN TOMORROW (THURSDAY 17 APRIL 2008). This is an issue of professionalism - your advisor needs time to read and correct your report. Just before your presentation, please provide me with the following: 1) Your final report 2) Your Advisor Grading Form (at the following link:) www.cise.ufl.edu/~mssz/SeniorProject/ABET2008-CIS4914-FinalRpt-AdvsGrd-Q uestionnnaire-S08.pdf 3) Your Student Questionnaire (at the following link), filled out IN MS-WORD FORMAT, NOT WITH HANDWRITING: www.cise.ufl.edu/~mssz/SeniorProject/ABET2008-CIS4914-FinalPres-StudentQ uestions-S08.doc 4) A hardcopy of your viewgraphs Dress code for your Final Presentation is business formal - suits or jacket & tie for men, trouser suit or skirted suit with blouse or turtleneck for women. Shoes and stockings for all. There will be no exceptions to the dress code. This is an issue of professionalism - most of you will be working in business, and you will be required to give presentation(s) in business formal attire. This is a good practice for that important career skill. Your presentation viewgraphs should consist of 7-9 slides, as described at the following link: www.cise.ufl.edu/~mssz/SeniorProject/senior-FinalOral.html You must use MS-PowerPoint, as that is industry standard. PLEASE DO NOT WEAR COLOGNE OR PERFUME. THIS IS PEAK ALLERGY SEASON. Many of your fellow students (and the instructor) have allergies, and it is very rude to aggravate those allergies with cologne, perfume, etc. Be sure to arrive about 15-20 minutes before your appointed presentation time (except, of course, for the first presenter). Rehearse your presentation in front of a video camera, or with a friend who is a good speaker of English. Also, if you are not a native English speaker, please have an English major review your Final Report for sense and linguistic correctness. Best wishes for success on your projects! I look forward to hearing your presentations :) Mark. mssz@cise.ufl.edu ----| Message #7 |--- Date: Wed Apr 9 16:36:24 EDT 2008 Subject: CIS/CEN 4914 - Final Presentation Dates/Places Class: We have reserved the rooms for CIS/CEN 4914 Final Presentation.
