Cheers, Mark. mssz@cise.ufl.edu ----| Message #11 Date: Thu Apr 8 15:18:58 EDT 2004 Subject: Reminder re: CIS4914 senior project reports Class: This is a reminder to have your ADVISOR GRADED senior project reports ready to give to me AT THE TIME OF YOUR PRESENTATION. You must have your advisor use the following form: http://www.cise.ufl.edu/~mssz/SeniorProject/senior-FinalRpt-AdvsGrd.html If your advisor will not grade your report or fill out the form, pls. email me *and cc: the email to your advisor*. Dress code is business formal, as specified at: http://www.cise.ufl.edu/~mssz/SeniorProject/senior-S04.html at the bottom of the page. PLEASE DO NOT WEAR PERFUME OR COLOGNE. There are many of your fellow students (and yours truly) who have allergies that are raging miseries at this time of year (hint: pollen season). The stress of public speaking (for you, not for me) can aggravate those allergies. It is important not to cause PWA's (people with allergies) further problems, so keep the perfume and cologne at home when you give your presentation. 'Nuff said... If you have not signed up for your presentation time, please do so now. THERE WILL BE NO MAKEUPS WITHOUT DOCUMENTED EXCUSE(S). Only the Tuesday slots are left, and few of those... I look forward to seeing your presentations. Best wishes for success!! Mark. mssz@cise.ufl.edu ----| Message #6 Date: Thu Feb 26 16:04:17 EST 2004 Subject: Senior Project Midterm Presentation #1 - Closing Details Class: Your presentations thus far this semester have been excellent! It was great to hear you narrate the details of your project so fluently, and with generally excellent slides. Two comments that might be of use to you follow: 1) Your literature sources slide should have the citations in the format specified at URL: www.cise.ufl.edu/~mssz/SeniorProject/senior-citation-format.html 2) If you did not attend the Sr. Project Midterm presentation #1 sessions Tuesday or Wednesday, i.e., did not give a presentation, then you must contact our TA, Mr. Jeff King (jeffking@ufl.edu) to set up an appointment to present to him in his office. MAKEUP PRESENTATIONS MUST BE COMPLETED BY SPRING BREAK, as we have many students and significant logistics problems this semester. Also, in about two weeks, I will post the signup sheets for the second midterm presentation, on my office door, and will email you accordingly. The presentations will be in the last week of March. Have a pleasant Spring Break! Mark. mssz@cise.ufl.edu ----| Message #5 Date: Tue Feb 24 11:10:49 EST 2004 Subject: Errors on Senior Project signup sheets Class: Senior Project presentations have been moving along well this morning. However, I noticed that some of you signed up on the wrong sheet - you used the DAS *meeting #1* signup sheet instead of the CIS4914 *Presentation #1* sheet. Would you pls. check your signup on my office door and correct that error? (The sheets were clearly marked on top). If you cannot find a slot for your Senior Project presentation on the CIS4914 signup pages, then please contact the TA, Mr. Jeff King (em: jeffking@ufl.edu) to set up an appointment with him to present at a mutually convenient time. He will send me a list of all who have completed their presentations at that time. However, this does provision does not mean that if you signed up for a presentation, that you can skip the presentation and make it up later. My apologies if this causes any inconvenience for you. Due to the very large enrollment in CIS4914 this semester, we are trying to do everything we can to make presentations convenient for all, but also are trying to keep the logistics manageable.
