Instructions: At the start of each work week (usually, just after the weekly group meeting), print out this form and fill it in with the tasks you have been assigned by instructor/mentor, and any additional goals you may wish to set for yourself.  Add additional tasks/goals to this sheet during the week as they arise.  Add more rows to the table if needed.  Estimate the total time that you think it will require to achieve each task when you first enter it, and calculate the total estimate.  To calibrate where your estimated total hours should be: For a 3-credit individual study, you should plan to spend at least 25% of your working time, or at least 10 hours/week, on the project.  At the end of the work week (usually, just before the weekly group meeting), indicate the status of each task (done / in progress / just started / postponed), a numerical "percent completed", and the actual amount of time you spent on the task during the week.  Also, add new rows for any extra items you accomplished that you did not originally plan to accomplish.  Calculate the totals.  Completing this sheet each week will both (1) make you better at estimating how much time tasks will take, and how much you can accomplish in a week, (2) make you more aware of what you need to do, and how you are spending your time, (3) help your mentor and instructor evaluate your performance for the week and give you feedback on your work practices.
