Matching Component
|

Matching Layer contains all the necessary operations for searching for suitable peers to host an application and for sellers responding to buyer requests. The matching component within each creates the network necessary to support these functions. This is currently the main focus of the Ocean Team.
Buyer Functions:
Create and support the network for connecting buyers and sellers. Send search requests for buyers needs. Arbitrate response from sellers (Sort seller responses based on the highest utility for the buyer).
Seller Functions:
Create and support the network for connecting buyers and sellers. Wait for search requests from prospective buyers. Determine if this node's resources match the buyer's request. Provide Buyer with information about this node's resources.
Development Areas:
Matching Network:
-
- Network Construction:
-
Creation of the network that will support buyer and seller interaction and investigating the benefits of different network schemes.
- Network evolution:
-
Intelligent evolution of peer to peer networks.
- Peer to Peer Network Visualization:
-
Development of a system to draw peer to peer networks in real time. This supports research in network evolution and organization for peer to peer networks.
Machine and Resource Descriptions:
- Resources Listings:
Completion matching specification and language to generalize resource requests and resource quality.
- Benchmarks:
Development or selection a set of benchmarks which can provide a decent machine metrics.
- Probes:
Development of a system for distribution of probes as real time benchmarks for seller evaluation.
