Effects on Primer Extension

Arbuthnot & Fitschen '92
Patrick Arbuthnot and Wyn Fitschen. "Inhibition of primer extension by single mismatches during asymmetric re-amplification." Letter, Biochemical Journal 288:1073-1074, Dec. 1992.

Example of results demonstrating that a mismatch at the 3' end of a primer prevents extension by polymerase much more effectively than does a mismatch in the middle of the primer. An effect we could possibly use to our advantage in DNA computation.
