Extension installation instructions:

Once you have the Chrome web browser, download the "CoolSearch.tar.gz" and extract it. In the chrome browser go to the 'Customize and control google chrome' setting on the top right corner. In its menu select 'Extensions'. Expand the 'Developer mode' and click on 'load unpacked extension' and browse to locate the extracted CoolSearch folder. Following screenshots will guide you comfortably.

Extension usage:

Once the extension has been loaded, you'll see a cooliris wall everytime you open a new webpage in chrome (except for some secure sites, mail servers). By default the wall has been loaded with 'interesting' images from flickr. You can use the blue knob in the middle to scroll the wall and view more images or use the mouse to navigate. To select click on the corresponding image. Doubleclicking starts the slideshow of images. You could expand it using the "fullscreen" option at the botton right corner of the wall. The general usage commands are pretty simple. Select the text to be searched on the webpage using mouse and press 'i' for image results and 'v' for video search results. If there is no text selected the wall displays popular videos and images. You could also go to the actual results page for an image/video by selecting it and clicking on "open this Item's page" option.
