About Me
I am a PhD student in the Computer and Information Science and Engineering department at the University of Florida. I am a member of the Virtual Experiences Research Group.
I graduated from the Unversity of Texas at Austin in 2006 with a BS in Computer Science and a BA in Asian Cultures and Languages (Chinese).
Between UT and UF, I worked for 21st Century Technologies in Austin, TX.
Outside of school and research, I enjoy traveling, cooking, and outdoor activities. I am an active member of TriGators, the UF Triathlon Team.
Class Projects
- Spring 2009
- AREXIS - Augmented Reality Exercise Instruction System. This project uses augmented reality to teach people simple exercises such as squats.
- Vertigo 3D - Virtual reality fear of heights simulator. This project uses a stereo HMD and tracking to simulate walking on a high bridge.
- Wheelcahir Simulator - This project allows users to experience navigating through a city while wheelcahir bound. We built a manual wheelchair simulator using bicycle wheels and Wiimotes.
- Image Spray - Image Spray - An immersive and desktop spray paint program that uses source images to allow users to composite images in an artistic manner.
- Fall 2008
- Match the Miis - A simple game desigend to test the speed of a keyboard vs a mouse. This was for Human Computer Interaction.
