No Exit

Hell is--other people!
--Jean-Paul Sartre

Despite Sartre's existential angst, one cannot get by in life without accumulating some friends and acquaintances. This is my list of people who have helped me, hindered me, sought me, saved me. In one way or another, these people have at one time, decided that my well-being was more important than their own tasks at hand. For that, I thank them, and dedicate this page to them.

"Did I thank you?"
"No."
"I will."
--El Mariachi, Desperado

Jerry T. Hsiao

Jerry is my older brother. He's currently working for Motorola, which means he has little time to spend redoing his homepage.

Rose Marie Oliva

"I have to remind myself that some birds aren't meant to be caged. Their feathers are just too bright. And when they fly away, the part of you that knows it was a sin to lock them up does rejoice. But still, the place you live is that much more drab and empty that they're gone.

I guess I just miss my friend."

--Red, The Shawshank Redemption

Rose Marie was my significant other for almost five years. She was my light, my muse, my life.

Juli Bosko

Juli's my best friend. Some people think there's something going on, but there's not. I still love her dearly, however, and if you hurt her, I'll break your face.

Stacey Rosenfeld

Stacey's the one person who understands me best in all the world. We are of one, she and I. She's currently going to Duke and Chapel Hill.

David Schumacher

Dave was my roommate for two years. He's an art major who can do remarkable things with Adobe Photoshop. Click on the image for more of his art (One would think that an art major would have a far better homepage than one that his old roommate created, but ah...). Dave is also the biggest humor enhancer I know. Around him, everything is funny.

Erich Goldstein

I've known Erich since my brother began college. He's now studying for his Ph.D. at NYU. He plays a mean game of Advanced Dungeons and Dragons.

Mike Cerrato

I've known Mike for only a few years, but he's helped me out quite a bit. Mike is also a veritable storehouse of computer knowledge.

Darryl Yust

Darryl knows quite a bit as well. Darryl whips my sore ass at Magic: The Gathering often. He's got so many cards, I don't have to buy any.

W. Allen Hux

Allen and I struggled through both Data Structures and Object-Oriented Programming together. He also stands my incessant teasing about Windows95 (He hates it; I don't mind). He also has an unnatural fascination for Tori Amos (but don't we all?).

Abhijeet Shailendu Shah

Just call him Nandu...or Phred. I just met Nandu this year, but already I've seen that he's a real nut like me.

Louis Florit

Louis and I went to high school together.

Matthew Belk

Matt and I plodded through Programming Language Principles together in the Fall of 1995. Matt and I are plodding through Programming Language Principles together in the Spring of 1996.

Osvaldo Sabina

Oz really freaks me out.
