Bob will not be holding his regularly scheduled office hours this Monday; he will be making them up by having extra office hours before the first exam. Speaking of exams, I'm still waiting for confirmation of dates from the registrar. The first one is coming up soon (week 5) the second two will be during weeks 10 and 15 respectively...
Yes, we are having lab this week. There are two primary webpages you should review: lab 1 (which covers the skills you'll need to learn for the lab next week) and lab 2 (which outlines exactly how you'll be graded next week). Please note that Kyle is only proctoring the labs; he will not be grading them, holding office hours, or otherwise supporting the course.
The syllabus has been updated with TA contact info and office hours.
Due to TA availability issues, the labs will not meet this week (8/31-9/1).
The mandatory biosketch assignment is due at the start of lecture on Wednesday 8/30. If you've written one previously, you can simply resubmit it with an updated “why you are taking this course” section, or even better, take the opportunity to tell me something new about yourself. (Should you be interested in such things, Dave: fact or fiction? has been significantly updated.)
Welcome to CIS 3020. Discussion sessions will not meet the first week of classes.
