Towards a Formal Curriculum Planning for Operational Skill Training

In this paper we propose a framework for formalising curriculum to support curriculum planning for operational skill training. This framework is used for the design of an intelligent training system for Air Traffic Control (ATC), ATEEG. Such an operational skill curriculum integrates training topics in terms of knowledge acquisition and skill development, instructional methods and training contexts. The rationale of these three components is discussed. A curriculum planning for ATC training based on the existing exercise design module in ATEEG system is described.
