In Berkeley U did Demmel James

Jim Demmel is a co-author of Templates for the Solution of Linear Systems (along with R. Barrett, M. Berry, T. F. Chan, J. Donato, J. Dongarra, V. Eijkhout, R. Pozo, and C. Romine, and H. van der Vorst). He also is an author of mangled verse of his own, which inspires my mangled verse below.

Xanadu, by Coleridge       A Sparsely Matrix Template Tame by T. D.

In Xanadu did Kubla Khan
A stately pleasure-dome decree :
Where Alph, the sacred river, ran
Through caverns measureless to man
Down to a sunless sea.

In Berkeley U. did Demmel, James
A sparsely matrix template tame :
Where s'lutions flew in complex plane
Through spaces C to n, tis plain,
Down to residual eps.
