About Virtual Patient
Virtual Patient is an android application to help train medical
professionals improve their communication skills by practicing speaking
with virtual patients. This application showcases the Virtual People
Factory project developed by Virtual Experiences Research Group at
University of Florida.
Virtual Patient integrates speech based interaction with University of Florida CISE Department's VirtualPeopleFactory giving a unique experience in interacting with virtual characters.

About Virtual Patients Group
The Virtual Patients Group is comprised of over 32 researchers,
including computer scientists, medical doctors, pharmacists,
psychologists, and educators. The Virtual Patients Group is
developing experiences with virtual humans to provide healthcare
students, professionals, and the general public with communication
skills education. We are integrating these experiences into
medical school curricula and public health exhibits. To date,
over 500 health care students have interacted with our immersive
virtual patients, 1000 with our online virtual patients, and hundreds
with our public exhibits.
