Short Bio: Prof. Barmpoutis' current research interests lie in the areas of machine vision and applications, virtual reality in medicine, human motion capture and analysis, biomedical image processing and visualization, and facial recognition and expression analysis. He has coauthored more than 40 journal and conference publications. Dr. Barmpoutis has received various awards and scholarships, including the Outstanding Academic Achievement Award from the College of Engineering, the CIEGL bursary from the University of Oxford, and the University of Florida Alumni Fellowship.
