City of Gainesville Overview
The University of Florida Campus is a trapezoidal plot of land 2 miles East-West, 1.5 miles North-South on its western boundary, 0.75 miles North-South on its eastern boundary. The City of Gainesville is laid out in quadrants. Avenues run East-West. Streets run North-South. They are numbered sequentially from the "center" of town. University Avenue, divides the city into North and South. Main Street, divides the city into East and West. The University of Florida is in SW Gainesville, bounded on the north by University Avenue (State Rd. 26), on the east by SW 13th Street (US 441), on the west by SW 34th Street (State Rd. 121), and on the south by Archer Rd. (State Rd. 24). There are multiple access points to the UF campus.
Driving Directions from Gainesville Airport to CISE
(Approximately 15 minutes)
Exit airport and turn right (west) on NE 39th Ave. (State Rd. 222). Go 0.8 miles and turn left on Waldo Rd. (State Rd. 24). Go 2.7 miles and turn right (west) on University Ave. Go 2.0 miles to west 17th St. (Buckman Dr.). Turn left (south) on Buckman Dr. (Note: You are now on the University of Florida campus which has a maximum speed limit of 20mph.)
There is an information booth on Buckman (just a few hundred feet south of University Ave. where you can get parking information. Since much of the campus is closed to traffic during the day, the attendant can give suggestions of how best to get to CISE from wherever you end up parking.
To get to CISE, from the information booth, go south until Buckman drive turns right. At the point where Buckman turns right (west), there is a large plaza area to your left (east) that you can walk through. As you walk east, the CISE building is to your right. Stay outside and walk around the building (curving to your right) until you are in the roofed area between two buildings (CISE on your right, the Marston Science Library on your left) and can see the golden french fries (you'll know them when you see them!). Enter CISE at the doors nearest the fries and take the stairs/elevator to the 3rd floor.
Driving Directions from Orlando Airport to CISE
(Approximately 2.0 hours)
At the airport, ask for directions to the Florida Turnpike. Take the Florida Turnpike north until it merges with I-75 just after the Wildwood exit. Take I-75 north 56 miles to Exit 382 (State Rd. 121/Williston Rd.). Turn left (east) on Williston Rd. and go 2.1 miles. Turn left (north) on SW 13th St.(441) and go 2.6 miles. Turn left (west) on University Ave. and go 0.3 miles to west 17th St. (Buckman Dr.). Turn left (south) on Buckman Dr. (Note: You are now on the University of Florida campus which has a maximum speed limit of 20mph.)

At airport ask for directions to I-295 South. Take I-295 to I-10. Take I-10 west to exit 343 (US 301). So south on US 301 36 miles. Scrupulously obey speed limits on 301. You will pass through the town of Starke and several small hamlets. South of Starke the next town you will encounter is Waldo. Follow signs to Gainesville via State Rd. 24 (Waldo Rd.). On State Rd. 24, go 13 miles. Turn right (west) on University Ave (also labeled as State Rd. 20, State Rd. 24, and State R. 26) and go 1.2 miles west to 17th St. (Buckman Dr.). Turn left (south) on Buckman Dr. (Note: You are now on the University of Florida campus which has a maximum speed limit of 20mph.)
