Research Projects

Medical-Vision Group

The Medical-Vision group is involved in the developing efficient algorithms for a variety of problems in diverse domains ranging from Computational Vision, Graphics and Medical Imaging. Within Computer Vision, we are concerned with developing efficient algorithms for 2D/3D image and motion segmention, image indexing using concepts of information geometry, for content-based retrieval (CBR). In Medical Imaging, we are involved in developing algorithms for shape modeling and recovery from volume data; inter and intra-modal volume image registration; Diffusion Tensor and high angular diffusion weighted MR image analysis, visualization and nerve fiber mapping; shape learning and classification using novel machine learning methods with applications to neuro-degenerative disorders e.g., epilepsy.
