PuTTY Installation
From the PuTTY webpage:
"PuTTY is a free implementation of Telnet and SSH for Win32 platforms, along with an xterm terminal emulator. It is written and maintained primarily by Simon Tatham."
- Download the PuTTY executable from here and run the PuTTY program.
- Select the SSH protocol, and enter the name of any public CISE Unix machine
(see the CISE computers page), and then click "Open":
- When prompted to do so, enter your CISE username and system password
and you will be connected:
- Alternately, you can run the PSCP or PSFTP programs to copy files securely.
