Statistical Analysis of Histograms for
Aggregate Query Processing |

In this talk I will give a surprising new interpretation of what
histograms assume when they are used for approximation of aggregates.
The new interpretation leads to clean statistical guarantees when the
assumption is true for histograms (usually histograms do not have any
error guarantees).
