Final total = 0.2*MT1 + 0.2*MT2 + 0.35*F + (total homework score - lowest homework score)/10 + (total quiz score - lowest two quiz scores)/3 *1.5
The average on the final exam was 60.09 out of 100. The average of the class on the OVERALL TOTAL is 68.71.
The grading policy, based on the OVERALL TOTAL (x), is as follows:
- x >= 80 is an A.
- 70 <= x < 80 is a B+.
- 60 <= x < 70 is a B.
- 50 <= x < 60 is a C+.
- 40 <= x < 50 is a C.
- x < 40 is a D.
A few important points to note:
- Please go through the final exam solutions posted on courseworx (and carry a printout of the same) before you come to see me.
- You can meet me tomorrow (i.e. Thursday 13th Dec) between 11:00 am and 1:00 pm in CSE 309 (not 506) to take a look at your final exam papers and ask questions. You can collect them only next week, though, if you wish.
- Again, you should not attempt to alter the contents of your answer sheets in any manner whatsoever. Any such cases will be dealt with very strictly.
- Also, no regrade requests on any of the previous stuff (midterms/quizzes/homeworks) will now be accepted, except the cases about which I was notified, either by email or in person, on or before Monday 10th December.
- You can ask questions about your exam grading and request for regrades. The grading policy (i.e. where I set thresholds) is not negotiable. If you were the unlucky soul who missed the next highest letter grade by 0.1%, there is nothing I can do. I need to threshold somewhere.
