Dec 20: Final grades have posted to ISIS. As mentioned on the course home page, 40% of the grade comes from the 13 homeworks (whew!) we had. Each exam was worth 20%. Once added up, I added 0.75% (better than rounding), but cut there, no matter how close to the next letter grade threshold. Remember that the letter grade thresholds appear in the Alternate Lecture 1, posted here in an earlier announcement. The overall course average was 81.9, a B-. Not bad at all. Here's the distribution of grades:

Dec 06: Dr. Bermudez's office hours are cancelled for Monday, Dec. 7.

Dec 06: The final exam will take place in our regular classroom, 10:00 a.m.-12:00n, on Dec 15th, 2009. It was previously mentioned (incorrectly) here that the exam would be 7th period. Class periods do not hold during finals week. The exam begins at 10:00 a.m.

Oct 14: In HW7, Problem 1(c)(d), the word "average" needs to be removed. This problem is asking for the maximum number in all possible search.

Sep 30: MIDTERM 1 has been scheduled for Monday, October 19, in class. The material on the exam includes Lectures 1-18.

Sep 28: In HW 5, the sample output should count rows and columns starting from 1 instead of 0. This has been updated in the HW pdf also. All the rows and the columns in the input and the output start from index 1.
