CGS3460 - Summer 2008

Overview

This course will cover the fundamentals (as well as more advanced topics) of the C programming language, as well as some basic programming and computer concepts.  It is intended to be accessible by those with little programming experience.  If you have questions concerning whether this course is appropiate for you, please feel free to contact me at {skoehler at cise dot ufl dot edu}, naturally replacing the "at" and "dot" with the "@" and "." symbols respectively and removing all spaces.

Required: C Programming: A Modern Approach, 2nd ed. by K. N. King. ISBN 0-393-97950-4

Grading

All quizzes and exams are in-class.  Quizzes may be announced or unannounced.  Homework is typically due at the beginning of class.

Attendance

I expect students to come to class, but attendance will not be taken and thus is technically optional.  Naturally, you are likely to do much better if you come to class and stay up with the material.   Certain concepts may only appear in class.  You're responsible for keeping up with the course if you have to be absent.
