Announcements

  • 7/12/07 So the ropes course is set. I decided not to make it mandatory but will be giving 25 points extra credit for any one who attends and writes a short essay (less than a page). That is equivalent to a quiz / half a letter grade.

    To sign up, come to class either Friday or Monday, and I will have a sign up sheet. Our appointment is for Saturday July 28 from 11 - 2. It should be a lot of fun.

    I have space for 16-18 people right now. If more than that want to attend, we will try to get more instructors but if that doesn't happen, than we will go on a first sign up first served basis.

  • 7/10/07: Neko will hold his office hours on July 18th the period before class rather than the period after class.

  • 7/10/07: Ritwik will not be holding his office hours on July 24. He will make them up either the week before or the week after.

  • 7/10/07: I have decided to cancel the final exam, and make the finalproject mandatory. The specs for the final project can be found on the assignments page. It will be due on August 10th by 11:59 PM.

  • 7/2/07: I have the graded mid terms and second quiz. Solutions to both have been posted on the website, under the quiz solutions link. If you would like to pick them up outside of my office hours/class contact me to make an appointment. Midterms/exams not picked up by next Wednesday (July 11th) will be thrown out.

  • 7/2/07: If you would like your exam regraded, contact Ritwik by Monday, July 9th. A note on the exam regrades: we have made copies of your exams, so all regrades will be checked to make sure they have not been altered.

  • 7/2/07: Neko will not be holding office hours on July 4th.

  • 6/15/07: Ritwik has the left over quizzes. If you have not picked up quiz 1, you can get them from Ritwik. Either go to his office hours or arrange a time with him. Any quizzes not picked up by Wednesday June 20th will be thrown out.

  • 6/15/07: I have corrected the examples for the tic tac toe game.

  • 6/7/07: I have posted the code snippets used in class.

  • 6/7/07: Ritwiks Tuesday office hours have been changed to 4th period permanently. So they are now Tuesday, 4th period and Thursday, 6th period.

  • 6/4/07: Assignment 2 had been extended by one day due to my sickness.

  • 6/4/07: Ritwik will be holding his office hours 4th period on Tuesday June 5.

  • 5/30/07: Ritwik will be holding his office hours 4th period on Thursday May 31.

  • 5/30/07: Assignment 2 is up. Our office hours will now be held in the proper rooms. (502 for Neko and 309 for Ritwik).

  • 5/23/07: Correction For the assignments save your files as p1.c, p2.c and p3.c. gcc will not compile if the extension ends in .cc. I apologize for the confusion.

  • 5/23/07: To execute from the cise machines after you compile, type in ./a.out if you don't specify an executable name or ./myExecutable.exe if you do, where myExecutable.exe is the name you specified.

  • 5/22/07: The first and second quiz have been postponed by one week.

  • 5/22/07: For those needing help with assignment, Ritwik will be holding his office hours on Thursday in CSE 114. There are more computers available there so if you need help getting your first program started you can go there.

  • 5/18/07: Instructions on getting a CISE account. Go to room E114. As you enter the door on your right there's a little black holder with instructions for creating accounts. The forms will print on the small printer behind the desk area. Pick up that form and bring the form up to the E314 area. ACCOUNTS WILL NOT BE PROCESSED WITHOUT A PHOTO ID VERIFICATION BY AN ADMIN.

  • 5/18/07: If needed, your programs will be compiled and tested on rain.cise.ufl.edu. That is a Solaris SPARC machine using gcc version 3.4.2.
