Computer Science Minor

General Requirements

This program is designated for students who have an interest in computer and information science and engineering. The program was created to provide students with the academic background necessary to understand the application of computers to scientific and engineering problems, and to prepare students for the possible graduate study in computer-related disciplines. Majors in Computer engineering and Computer Information Sciences are not eligible to receive this minor.

To apply for the minor, the student must have a 2.5 GPA and complete the following courses with a grade of C or better:

Total hours required for the CISE Minor: 20

At least three of the following courses must be taken at the University of Florida: COP 3504, COT 3100, CDA 3101, COP 3530, and COP 4600. The Computer and Information Science and Engineering Department administers this minor program.
