Title: Triangulations Speaker: Alper Ungor (UF, CISE) Delaunay triangulations (dual of Voronoi diagrams) find use in many fields, including engineering simulations, graphics, visualizations, robotics, geographic information systems, and biological modeling. Triangulations (meshes) are often required to have bounded aspect - ratio (quality guarantee) and small number of elements. I will present fast algorithms to compute size-optimal quality triangulations. Space tiling tetrahedra and their use in computing quality triangulations will also be discussed. In addition, the talk will include several open problems from the field of computational geometry.
